Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo Review

I am suffering from Dandruff since I was a child. I am sure most of you are victims of this flaky thing. At the age of 12, I started visiting dermatologists for this problem. They recommend me different shampoos but nothing worked for me.  They worked for me as long as I was using them. After that I was again with this issue. It got worse day by day. Last year, I was browsing online and I found a link for top 5 shampoos for dandruff control. Neutrogena T/Gel was on second in that list. First one was Nizoral. I tried to find Nizoral but I was unable to find it easily. While T/Gel was available. I bought one bottle from a superstore. It comes in a transparent plastic bottle with blue lid on top. This is again packed in a cardboard box. It contains Col Tar 0.5%. It claims for long-lasting relief of itching and flaking and controls the symptoms of Dandruff, Seborrhea dermatitis, Psoriasis. Let’s see did it work for me or not :)

My Experience:

It is a thick gel and brown in colour. It makes great lather on scalp and hairs. Fragrance is quite strong and unpleasant. I didn't like that .Honestly it didn't work for me at all. The day I washed my hair, my scalp was dandruff free but very next day it was back again. I have used this product twice in a week (as mentioned on bottle) for many days but I haven't seen any change. I can't say it stops persistent itching or not because I am not suffering from itching. My problem is flaky scalp and for that it didn't helped in any way. Someone told me to keep it on scalp for at least 30 minutes so that it can work. But spending 30 extra minutes in shower? Arggg Big no. In this fast pace era who can wait for 30 minutes for a miracle to happen in shower. If I talk about hair, yes it’s a bit harsh on hairs by making them dry but not too much as like other anti dandruff shampoos do. I am not saying it’s a bad product. It might work for few people but not for me. I feel my problem is severe and old.
